Chapter books and Read aloud books

It’s such an amazing sense of accomplishment for a child when they start reading chapter books. It feels so adult-like. Work hard to find the right level of chapter books. Look for books at a level that your child can not only read, but also understand. Even if they can read all the words in “Harry Potter”, that doesn’t mean they understand what they are reading. Make a game of reading alternate pages at night, and then ask each other questions about what you read. In learning how to comprehend what they read, you are helping your child develop skills they will use for life.
